The Raccoon Valley Bank Community House in Adel

This space hosts events with up to 60 people comfortably and is available for the general public to reserve at no cost. If you are interested in scheduling an event, review the Community House calendar below, and email adelretail@raccoonvalleybank.com with your reservation request.

Raccoon Valley Bank completed major renovations to the Community House in 2023. We recognize the importance the Community House plays in Adel's downtown and serving as a community gathering space.

These improvements included:

• Installing a new metal roof
• Reinforcing the building's foundation
• Replacing the flooring
• Updating the paint
• Replacing the landscaping and sod
• Adding a new shaded patio with permanent bags boards for the community

"We want people to stop and enjoy the whole property, not just the inside of the building. People are welcome to play bags or sit on the shaded patio and enjoy the view of Main Street and the adjoining stage and pavilion park if the facility is not already in use. Adel is a historic town. We wanted this project to reflect the character Adel is known for."

The History of The Community House

The Community House was originally built as a church in 1862. Raccoon Valley Bank originally acquired the property in 1996 and renovated the property to become a community meeting space. Since its opening as an event space, The Community House has been a gathering space for anyone in the community, not just bank customers. The space can be booked by anyone for their event free of charge.
